Spacecraft captures highly informative pic of mercury
Last week ESA’s and JAXA’s BepiColombo mission recently made a close flyby of Mercury during which it successfully managed to capture a highly detailed image of the planet Mercury. This close flyby has helped scientists observe many of the craters in great detail and even helped them discover a new crater.
Sun continues to blast Earth with its solar storms
The sun has been growing more and more violent recently and the number of solar flares and solar storms are increasing every day. That’s not all. The sun keeps blasting Earth with massive solar storms. Last week a large solar storm occurred on the sun. This particular storm was a class M 4.9 storm. While it has not caused any blackouts on Earth yet, all we can do is wait and see if it causes any geomagnetic storms on earth.
Cleaning the space station- cosmonauts toss junk into space
Last week 2 Russian cosmonauts spent 6 hours outside the space station cleaning its exterior and tossing unwanted and unused devices and experiments into space. Of course, it is not as easy as it sounds. They had to make sure they burnt up in the earth’s atmosphere or it might have caused serious damage to the ISS since it is traveling at a high speed.
