Amazon launches first satellites of Kuiper constellation
Last week, Amazon launched the first batch of its Kuiper satellites, which aim to form a large constellation to provide satellite internet connection worldwide, similar to SpaceX’s Starlink. 27 satellites were launched as part of the first batch, and it is expected to consist of about 3,200 satellites eventually.
James Webb finds coldest exoplanet ever
Last week, scientists using the James Webb telescope discovered an exoplanet about 80 light-years away orbiting a dead star. The planet WD 1856+534 b was found in 2020, but scientists could not confirm it was a planet. The surface temperature of the planet is about -87°C (Antarctica is about - 46°C).
