ISRO stuck in wrong orbit after manoeuvre failure
Last week ISRO conducted its 100th launch. The GSLV rocket successfully placed a navigation satellite into a temporary Geostationary Transfer Orbit. The satellite was then supposed to use its own engines to reach its final Geostationary Orbit, about 36,000 km above Earth.
The rocket did what it was intended to do, but the satellite was unable to manoeuvre itself into the new orbit due to issues with the fuel valves, leaving it stuck in the Transfer orbit. ISRO is now trying to find other uses for this satellite.
Not much action in the cosmos this week, unless you count the Earth still spinning. -SpaceBlaze
