Space debris is a major problem today. There are about 1 million pieces of space junk in the lower orbit of the Earth (an area in Earth orbit near enough for convenient transportation, communication, and observation). This debris can damage satellites and telescopes. Even a tiny screw traveling at 20000 mph can do some serious damage. Let us see what this new company, Kayhan Space plans to do about this.
Kayhan Space is a startup that makes sure your satellite doesn’t crash into another. How does it do this? Let us find out.
This space startup monitors all the space debris more than 10 centimeters. It then uses computers to predict the path of this debris. When the two paths of different debris are predicted to collide, it is called a conjunction. When the computer predicts a conjunction, it warns the satellite owners about it.
More and more space missions are being launched. Thus resulting in more space debris. Kayhan space plans to make space a safer place for satellites, telescopes, space stations, and other missions.
